Because prints are very fragile, they shouldn't be stored in the tube for extended periods of time. Make sure to open the package within 24-48 hrs of receiving it and take it to a professional framer as soon as possible for opening and archival dry mounting. Handling your large print yourself could result in wrinkles or tears. In the unlikely event of damage, please see policy HERE.
FRAMING: It is not uncommon for prints to have a strong curl to them when first unrolled. Discuss with your professional framer about dry-mounting your print, using archival materials only, to ensure it will remain flat once framed.
PLACEMENT: All artworks should not be placed in direct sunlight to avoid any fading over time.
ABOUT THE PIECE
ONAQUI MOUNTAINS, UTAH, 2009
Every time I turned around during my time in Skull Valley Utah this stallion was within close proximity. While being quite comfortable around horses and reading horse energy, my initial thought was he is definitely “watching” me, however at the end of the five days it felt as though he was watching over me. The experiences I had with him and his band have forever changed me.
Quietly sitting within the herd on my last day the camera was put down and it was time to thank mother nature for the joy she had just shared with me. Through tear filled eyes saying thank you to him and repeating a promise that had been made years ago...to the best of my ability I will help tell their story, make sure they matter, have a voice and be seen. In fall of 2009, a “last minute” round up was executed, this herd was stripped down to an extremely low number of horses from the herd of about 2-300 strong. There is a good chance this stallion, the strongest and most untouched one of the herd is sitting in permanent holding with a brand on his neck and hip, somewhere in the middle of who knows where, his freedom on the other side of a pipe fence.
