Meraki
(v.) to do something with soul, creativity, or love; to put something of yourself in to your work.
Somehow, somewhere I ran across this word and stopped in my tracks. It brought tears to my eyes. It is something that feels so authentic to me it hurts, yet still, sometimes does not feel like it's "enough". We can of course always do more, do better and strive to leave only beautiful footprints. Then again working so hard to "do the right thing" has side effects too. You loose focus, perspective and a whole domino effect of other events can occur. With art, like life, you start to "do" instead of "be"...Staying the course, falling in love with not only what you do but how you do it, everything around you, others, their dreams and desires, it allow us to express ourselves in ways that truly make a difference, just the shear act of being in love... with something...makes the difference.
My wish for all, for each and every one of us is to find some meraki, in each and every day.
