Prints are archival, plant based, museum quality, printed on a beautifully etched cotton rag paper. Prints are sold un-matted and unframed. All sizes are the full size of the print, including a one inch border around the image. Conservation Prints are hand signed by Kimerlee. All prints have a slight sepia tone hand crafted and unique to Kimerlee’s works.

Because prints are very fragile, they shouldn't be stored in the tube for extended periods of time. Make sure to open the package within 24-48 hrs of receiving it and take it to a professional framer as soon as possible for opening and archival dry mounting. Handling your large print yourself could result in wrinkles or tears. In the unlikely event of damage, please see policy HERE.

FRAMING: It is not uncommon for prints to have a strong curl to them when first unrolled. Discuss with your professional framer about dry-mounting your print, using archival materials only, to ensure it will remain flat once framed.

PLACEMENT: All artworks should not be placed in direct sunlight to avoid any fading over time.

(Within the Continental United States)

Unframed Conservation prints are a flat rate of $15 dollars.

Unframed Limited Edition prints 24 x 36 - 36 x 54 are a flat rate of $40.00 dollars.

Unframed Limited Editions prints 40 x 60 - 60 x 90 are a flat rate of $75.00 dollars.

ABOUT THE PIECE

Onaqui Mountains, Utah

Limited Edition 50

“But darling, we weren’t given this Wild soul to merely exist. Our mission is to shake up the world, turn it upside down and show our fellow human the difference between breathing and being fully alive.” - unknown

In the heart of the vast and rugged wilderness, where the original Pony Express cuts a trail between two jagged mountain ranges, lives this striking mare. A testament to the resilience of nature in the face of human driven agendas. In that long, thick-dreaded mane lies the stories of her life, woven as a wild, sentient being, thriving in our harsh Western landscape.

Having watched this mare since 2009, an observer to just a slice of her epic  journey I have seen her living free, give life, be captured, branded, given birth control and released back onto her home territory. She has lost stallions and siblings all by the chaos that comes from human intervention.

She has witnessed life and death, the ebb and flow of her family band. Given all of that, still, she thrives. Year after year her wisdom to survive does not fail her and she perseveres. She knows when to take her family to water, move her foals from danger and the secrets of the land they traverse, rocky, dusty and snow covered she navigates it all.

She is one of those mares the horsewoman in me looks at and thinks what a fine partner she would make with her lovely conformation and exquisite beauty. However, this mare, this aged beauty in all her wisdom and bravery, belongs to the earth, the sky and all the enchantments of the wild. She is hopefully destined to remain free, untamed, her hooves galloping upon the very dust where she was born, and, one day that same earth will be her final rest.
